Poco Graphite first began manufacturing premium EDM grade graphites in 1964. Since that time, POCO has remained focused on developing the best graphite grades for the EDM industry targeted at specific applications. POCO’s EDM grades of graphite are sold through a network of distributors around the world.

POCO set the industry standard for electrode performance with EDM-3, the most widely used graphite for production of plastic injection cavities. Known for consistency from block to block and year to year, electrodes made from EDM-3 excel in difficult and precision applications while providing predictable results. Benchmarked performance characteristics include a good balance of metal removal rates, low electrode wear, and fine surface finishes. These same qualities have been incorporated into each POCO grade of graphite developed for the EDM industry.

Today, POCO is known as a manufacturer of superior EDM graphite electrode materials and as a provider of EDM performance solutions. POCO supports the industry with free training and technical information through its EDM Training Program and EDM Technical Manual. Classes are held at POCO Training Centers in North America, Europe and Asia or at customer facilities. Trained applications engineers are also available worldwide to handle those tough EDM questions.
